Race Report
As the 2010 season approaches we are working steadily to prepare the ShadowLands Mustang GT for the NMRA season opener in Bradenton, Florida. With our new Kicker Audio sponsorship we have high expectations for our team this season and are looking forward to bringing Kicker into the NMRA limelight.
Our Mustang will feature a new engine combination based on a 298” stroker short block from Probe Industries/Coast High Performance. Combined with cylinder heads from our own ShadowLands shop and the superior flow capabilities provided by our new C&L intake manifold we are expecting the car to be a consistent low ten / high nine second performer. Backing up this power will be a 5R55S automatic transmission from Performance Automatic featuring the newly released SFI-legal bell housing and the deep pan / dipstick combination available from P/A. Complimenting the new transmission will be a new torque converter from Ultimate Converters. Power is then sent back via a Spydershaft aluminum, one-piece driveshaft to a serious 8.8 rear end built by Pyle Brothers Differentials. “Hook” is provided by the newly released upper/lower control arms from UPR, lightweight Billet Specialties Street Lite wheels, and killer Mickey Thompson drag radials.
Putting all this together is only made possible by our partnership with Strictly Performance in Houston, Texas. From custom parts, installation, and tuning the crew at Strictly knows how to build a winner. Further tuning by BamaChips keeps our Mustang in the winner’s circle on a regular basis. Back inside our hot rod is the one thing that makes fast street cars enjoyable: a killer stereo system. The new Kicker Audio upgrade system for the Ford Mustang GT replaces our old Shaker 500 system and will allow us to showcase the power and clarity of Kicker components to the fans and fellow racers of the NMRA. This new system uses bolt-in components that are a direct fit replacement for the Ford audio components along with “plug & play” wiring for an easy, trouble-free installation. With Kicker components in your Mustang you’ll be….Livin’ Loud!
